In all my chasing of sunrises I had never before been confronted with a scene quite like this one. After 40 minutes driving through drizzle, I plonked my tripod into the sand without much time to set up. It was all happening so I clicked away, at what probably ended up being 15 images to stitch together producing the end result. There was thunder and lightening behind me, and the rainbow popped out right as it poured down with rain and the sun came up. It was game over. The shoot itself took about 8 minutes with the sky changing colour throughout. Gotta love the East Coast!
